Ed Onoszko Memorial
Edward Alexander Onoszko, age 82, passed from this earth to his eternal home with Jesus on March 11, 2026, in Billings, MT. He was born December 25, 1944, to Edward A. Onoszko and Jean Barbara Ruszala Onoszko, in Elizabeth, NJ.
Ed lived with his parents and brothers in Elizabeth, New Jersey from his birth until he enlisted in the Military. He served in the U.S. Navy for two terms from 11/1962 until his Honorable Discharge in 2/1970.
Ed settled in the Portland, OR area where he met and married his beloved, Candise Elaine Lucas, on July 19, 1975. He identified her as "God's amazing gift" to him. Together they celebrated 47 years of marriage one week before she passed unexpectedly, July 26, 2022.
Ed and Candy moved to Montana to raise their family after Peter was born. Most of Ed's career was spent with Sweetheart Bakery as a Delivery Driver. Some of his routes took him as far as Red Lodge each day, for years until his retirement. He made many friends out of his customers because of his likability, service, and the logo on his shirt, "Sweetheart"!
Ed enjoyed hiking, scuba diving, driving his Corvette, camping, barbecuing, remodeling their home, sketching/artwork, gun-fun, collecting "California Raisins", watching The Steelers play, spending quality time with loved ones, and being a part of the constant hospitality he and Candy offered to all who entered their open doors, with open hearts and open arms. Always ready to serve at whatever the level of need and for as long as it was needed.
Ed was very proud to serve the country he loved. He loved our President Donald J. Trump and was very patriotic. His conversations never shied away from these facts. He also loved bragging about Jesus, his family and friends. Ed's relationship with Jesus deepened after Candy's passing. Life became more of a challenge due to living without her and dealing with major health issues.
We will miss his winsome smile, the light in his eyes, his story telling and contagious laughter.
