Welcome to Branches Academy at The Vine, a private Christian school in Laurel, Montana. For over a decade—formerly as New Life School of Light—we've partnered with families to raise children ages 3 through 8th grade in the light of Christ, staying connected to Him as branches to the true Vine (John 15:5).
We follow Proverbs 22:6: train up a child in God's way so they know Him personally and live His truth daily. We build real relationships that help kids grow strong spiritually, socially, intellectually, emotionally, and physically—going beyond lessons to help each child feel seen, known, and equipped. In a world reshaped by technology, we stay committed to teaching kids how to think and learn for themselves, so they master tools rather than let tools master them.
Our four-day schedule, Monday through Thursday (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with adjusted mornings for preschool), supports family life. Longer days include breaks and activities, with no homework so classroom time focuses on collaboration, relationships, and progress. Fridays stay open for rest and home.
Faith shapes every part through preaching and studying the Word, worship from the heart, prayer that builds dependence on God, discipleship that forms character, and academics that sharpen the mind. Preschool through 2nd grade use Horizons—clear, hands-on materials with steady review that help concepts stick and build confidence step by step. For 3rd through 8th, Ignitia provides interactive, Christ-centered online lessons that adapt to each student's pace while keeping truth central. We teach students to manage thoughts with Dr. Caroline Leaf's 5-step Neurocycle process, turning negative patterns into healthy mindsets and real resilience.
The result: children who think clearly, relate kindly, stand firm in faith, connect deeply with God and others, and carry His light into the world with courage and purpose.
